» Awards and Qualifications
There are several awards and qualifications that the 16AA has. Below you can see the reasons awards or qualifications are awarded.

You can view the awards and qualifications each person has in their Service History on the ORBAT page.

Awards
Significant Effort
This is awarded for those who are there putting in the effort to make things better. They may be the unsung heroes of the 16AA who are not necessarily the best shot, the highest kill-counter or the best leader. They are the ones who make the whole thing work.
Significant Effort Gold
This is awarded for continued and outstanding effort to make the 16AA better as a whole.

JNCO
The Junior Non Commissioned Officer (JNCO) course will offer you insight into the role of the IC and 2IC of a section. The course teaches you method of instruction, how to cascade orders and how to effectively and decisively command your fire team/section on the battlefield.
SNCO
This course, combined with and interview with Command Staff, is the only way to progress from Corporal to Sergeant or Warrant Officer (Senior Non-Commisioned Officers). This course teaches you how to extract orders, communicate command intent and lead your section commanders on the battlefield. You will have to learn the best way to analyse the battlefield and advise your OC (Platoon Commander) of the situation. This role is pivotal in the functioning of the unit on the battelfield.
Navigation
You cannot operate effectively on the battlefield if you do not know where you are. Navigation forms part of the core skill sets for a soldier. In the 16AA you will learn to read maps and give grid references as taught in real-life armies around the globe.
Signals
Knowing where you are is just the beginning. You need to be able to communicate with your team to establish the situation and where it is taking place. Effective use of communications is essential. This course will teach you the correct way to use comms.
Parachutist
To be awarded this badge you will need to pass the Parachute Course. This is a minimum requirement for promotion from Private (in an Infantry Role) and a requirement for certain other courses.
Master Parachutist
To be awarded this badge you will need to have passed the Parachute Course and completed a total of 20 Parachute drops during Operations. This is a prerequisite for becoming a Parachute Instructor.
